Tatum's Arrival : Louisville Birth Photographer

As a birth photographer I am often honored with being one of the very first people to find out that my clients are expecting and sometimes I get to keep that secret until they announce the news officially. It's so rewarding and exciting to know that I am a part of that inner circle and the relationship that develops over the months of waiting on this miracle to arrive is priceless. I never grow tired of sharing these joyous and deeply intimate, first moments.

The journey to this amazing day was long and sometimes rough, but the strength and love that Scott & Madalyn have is undeniable. I squealed with excitement when I got the message back in August that they were pregnant and was delighted when they asked me to come celebrate and document their gender reveal party. As the days passed by I grew anxious awaiting to hear news of her impending labor, but as her due date came and went they decided to send her an eviction notice.

This gorgeous and perfect, rainbow baby blessed us on a Thursday morning. Not only was she stubborn but she quickly let everyone know that she is a princess, through and through. I cannot wait to watch this little beauty grow over the next year. And if this isn't enough sweetness for you, check out her newborn session HERE.

Madelyn's Arrival | Louisville Birth Photographer

Sweet Madelyn Kate arrived on a beautiful morning in May!
Absolutely perfect in every way, this 8lb 6oz princess was the blessing that was needed to complete this happy family.

For Madelyn's arrival, we chose a different approach at capturing the joy of this eventful day.
Her parents knew they wanted to freeze these moments in time but, because of the nature of scheduled c-sections, knew that it would be a very long day. The most important moments they wanted documented were the first moments between their daughters. So we decided that I would come after the delivery since we knew that it would be hours before big sister, Malana, would meet her baby sister. As a mother of two, I knew how extremely special this was.

I feel so blessed to have been a part of this glorious day and I look forward to watching her grow!

Taylor's Arrival | Bardstown Birth Photographer

Remember the gorgeous belly I posted a few weeks ago? Well, sweet Taylor Annelise made her debut last Monday, and oh how gorgeous she is! Due to the fact that she loved listening to her mommy's heartbeat so much, Miss Taylor refused to turn into position and a cesarean was scheduled. After weeks of hoping and praying that she would go into labor on her own, Stephanie was excited and anxious early that morning to get the ball rolling. With all the excitement of getting hooked up to the monitors and getting her antibiotics, she started having some painful and regular contractions while waiting to be wheeled to the OR and endured them like a champ!
Once they took her back to the operating room, we all waited (impatiently) to see Johnny bring his new bundle of joy to the nursery. Weighing in at mere 6 pound 15 ounces, Taylor Anne was perfect in every way! Welcomed by a crowd of loving friends and family, this sweet little princess is surrounded with love!
I can't wait to get my hands on her again at her newborn session this week!

Autumn's Arrival | Louisville Birth Photographer

No matter how many births I attend, each one is as emotional and heartfelt as the last.
Sweet Autumn Elizabeth's birth was a first for me! Delivered via a scheduled cesarean, I was unable to be in the operating room during her arrival, but was able to capture the emotion and events that surrounded her birth.
For me this was extremely special because, from a nursing standpoint, I know how detached mothers can feel from the birth experience when dealing with a cesarean. I can't imagine any better way to document and encompass all the joy and love that comes with the arrival of a new life, and being able to look back through these photographs and watching this video allows these mothers to relive and see just what went on that day!
I feel so blessed to have been a part of Autumn's big day and I look forward to watching her grow!

Olivia's Arrival | Louisville Birth Photographer

It hardly seems possible that just one month ago my beautiful sister gave birth to this amazing miracle. *yes, I'm all teary-eyed as I type this* Olivia is a delightful newborn and has brought so much more love to our family. It is impossible to look at her sweet face without smiling. Her tiny fingers melt my heart when they wrap around mine. And even though I pray that time slows down so that her mother and father can savor every single moment of this newness, I can not wait to witness the beautiful woman that she will grow to be!

As promised...Olivia's arrival!
[be warned...picture overload!!! and please have tissues handy because it is impossible to watch this video without tears]
